Miami Vice
The Miami Vice is a frozen blended cocktail made with rum. It is perfect for sipping in hot weather. It is sweet, refreshing and visibly tropical. To make this cocktail, it is a combination of a strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colada. Have a pitcher handy if you only have one blender; as you need to reuse it to make the second flavor.
Ingredients:
2 oz. White Rum
2 oz. Malibu Rum
3/4 oz. Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz. Cream of Coconut
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
10 sliced strawberries
1/2 Lime, freshly squeezed
Directions:
Pina Colada Layer:
In blender, combine 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and Malibu rum. Blend until smooth. Set aside.
Strawberry Daiquiri Layer:
In blender, combine 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice, sliced strawberries, fresh lime juice, white rum and triple sec. Blend until smooth.
To layer the drink:
Pour Daiquiri and Pina Colada in alternating layers in a tall glass. Garnish with strawberries, pineapple and lime wedges.
*If you prefer a strong drink, substitute Bacardi 151 for the daiquiri.
*Add half banana to daquiri layer for more tropical flavor.
